The Scenic Route

This is that legendary secret album of Bob’s — never released before, available only on CD-R — produced by John Murry (This Graceless Age, Califorlornia) at Tim Mooney’s Closer Recording studio in San Francisco, back in 2009-10, just before Tim died. It’s got some top-notch San Francisco musicians on it, and it’s all mixed and mastered, in wav files, it’s just not a CD. It’s a CDR. Maybe someday, in a future life, it will become a CD. One can only hope.

But I’ll tell you one thing. It’s just what the doctor ordered. If you’re one of those whose taste in music has progressed to the outré, the outrageous, the unique and the unusual, you’ll love this sucker! Fifteen songs, all written by Bob himself, over a period of 35 years, from the sweet and warm, through the strange and haunting, all the way out to the crazy and unimaginable. Songs like “Vivian O’Blivion” and “Robbed by a Hooker” — produced in a manner that you will never hear anywhere else on this planet.

  1. Victor, if all I’ve heard from Vanguard is true, you will soon be able to buy that album, on vinyl as well as CD. They’re reissuing it for the first time ever on a label called “Light in the Attic.” Not sure when it will be out, but sometime this year…. hide and watch.

  2. I would like to find the chords to “6 Bucks A Day” ive looked all over the net and only found lyrics…. I love bobs song writeing. Buck Skin Lady, and Horses and Cattle, are two of my alltime favorite songs.
